Job Overview: Assumes responsibility for the performance of routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood, urine, tissues, body fluids and other specimens that assist physicians in the diagnosis of clinical management of clinical management of patients,

Assumes responsibility of recognizing results or problems that require referral to Supervisor

Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or sciences,

Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques, which would normally be obtained through a formal four-year college/university academic program,

Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technology, such as American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred,

Successful completion of all Orientation Programs,

Scheduling Requirements non-exempt positions:

Essential Functions: Well lighted, sometimes poorly ventilated and intermittently noisy environment,

Stressful pressure episodes,

Some exposure to stains,

Frequently works with infectious biological materials, stains, caustic, toxic and noxious agents,

Occasional potential for electrical shock and laceration

Must meet requirements of the ADA

Moderate amounts of sitting, standing or walking,

Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects weighing up to 20 pounds
