About Athena 

Athena is a creative place for leaders, risk-takers, creative thinkers and boundary-pushers. Our capabilities range from branding, ad campaigns, social media content and management, to marketing strategy and events planning. 

This position resides within our in-house Creative Agency and requires proficiency in multi-channel social media content creation and strategy with demonstrated interest and success in organic social content.  

All Athena internships are hosted in-person at our Philadelphia headquarters, 20-30 hours a week.   

Requirements

The skills and experience you should have: 

• You’re a creative thinker: not afraid to think outside the box, driven by curiosity, proposing ideas and solutions, reaching above and beyond to ensure the success of a project 
• You’re a people person: whether it’s brainstorming with coworkers or working with other departments, you’re a clear, open communicator and you’re not afraid to ask for help 
• You’re tech savvy: you’re in-tune with design trends, and you can learn new computer programs and adapt them into your workflow quickly 
• You’ve got it together: a fan of calendar invites, close attention to detail, tight time management, and organization skills 

What you'll be responsible for:

• Utilize creative concepting skills and trend literacy to create standout content from concept to post, including but not limited to marketing collateral, logos, and social media content.  
• Collaborate with the creative team from conception to execution   
• Research design trends and contribute fresh ideas to projects  
• Contribute to internal communications, elevating Athena’s brand 
• Receive constructive feedback and deliver positive results  

Requirements and preferred skills:

• Working toward a degree in graphic design, advertising, or social media 
• Native proficiency in design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, composition, and awareness of current design trends  
• Digital portfolio showcasing social campaign work  
• A solid grasp of creative and production workflows  
• Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills  
• A positive attitude and commitment to curiosity and collaboration within a team  

It's a plus if you have:

• Experience in copywriting 

• Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite 

• Developing and launching social campaigns from conception to delivery
