Job Title: Traffic Anchor/Reporter - WFOX TV

Position Overview

CBS47/FOX30 Action News Jax is looking for its next Traffic Anchor/Reporter in sunny Jacksonville, Florida! The job involves anchoring traffic 5 days a week and enterprise reporting 2 days a week. Candidates should have anchoring experience with traffic anchoring preferred. Our morning anchors are newsroom leaders who help mentor and grow producers. We are looking for a self-starter who works well under tight deadlines and can also dig up transportation/traffic stories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to narrate, ad-lib and add value to live breaking news coverage
• Write news stories that are clear, accurate and unbiased
• Ability to cover live events for all platforms, including live breaking news and station initiatives
• Thorough understanding of social media and demonstrated ability to move audience between all platforms.
• Curiosity that drives an understanding of current events
• Demonstrate consistently high proficiency with the necessary technical, writing, and presentation skills for television broadcasts.
• Strong writing and editorial skills required
• Appears on behalf of the station at public events

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• Reporting experience (2-3 years preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and a clear driving record
• Ability to work varied shifts including overnights and weekends
• Can deal with the stress of pressures of time-sensitive newscast production

Preferred Qualifications

• Traffic or anchoring experience (1-2 years preferred)
