PTW is looking forStructural SteelWelders towork in our Calgary fabrication facility. Flexible start times with options on morning, or afternoons! GOOD TO KNOW Monday-Friday shift with opportunities to work weekends for extra overtime 8-10 hour days Day and night shift available A DAY IN THE LIFE Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications and welding symbols. Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Removes welds using the Air Arc Gouging process. Completes assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications. Accurately completes time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets etc. Operates manual flame-cutting equipment. Adjusts welding equipment and tooling according to work specifications. Completes housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area on a daily basis and/or when required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS One year of work experience in the trade required. Some college or industry courses in welding are considered an asset. Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) an asset. Specialization in structural construction welding considered an asset. All required CWB qualifications are current. Solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories. Knowledge of pre-heat and post-heat temperatures and applications. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation. Must supply basic hand tools. Must have CSA approved steel-toed boots Overhead Crane certification is an asset.
