If this sounds like the opportunity for you, Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector would love to have you join our team as a Principal (level 3) Software Engineer or Sr. Principal (level 4) Software Engineer based out of based out of Aurora, CO.

What you'll get to do: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • Level 3: Bachelor's degree + 5 years of relative experience; Master's degree + 3 years of relative experience: PhD + 0 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Level 4: Bachelor's degree + 8 years of relative experience; Master's degree + 6 years of relative experience: PhD + 3 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Candidate must have a current/active Top Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application to be considered and must be willing to take a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly).
  • Experience in working with JAVA and C++ Experience in Kubernetes, Docker, micro-service architecture and object orientated design.
  • Experience with React
  • Experience with REST architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in software design
  • Experience in software unit testing
  • Experience with software development on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with software system integration, testing, and deployment
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Experience working in a fast-paced small team environment

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
