Job Description

A Federally Qualified Health Center that provides medical, behavioral health, dental, and support services to patients throughout Boston, the South Shore, and Cape Cod is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Addiction Specialist.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Addiction Specialist coordinates psychiatric services with the Behavioral Health Director and Psychiatrist as well as provides direct services to patients with substance abuse disorders and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Provides treatment to patients for substance abuse and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Completes diagnostic medication evaluations and provides medication management. Collaborates with therapists and other primary care providers and OBAT Nurses and Coordinators in the treatment of patients. Manages medication refills for patients throughout the practice. Completes bridge visits for patients who have not been seen and are awaiting intake as well as walk in patients with urgent psychiatric needs. Assists Primary Care and the OBAT team with de-escalation as needed. Complete discharge visits from referring facilities. Engages in regular supervision with Psychiatrist in accordance with PMHNP requirements. Participates in diagnostic formulations and development of treatment plans for patients. Takes a leadership role in case conferences and in-service training of staff and provides overview of medical problems and organic psychiatric and neurological problems.
