Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Project Manager for a technical, full-time contract opportunity located in Houston, Texas. This position is designed for a professional with a strong background in IT security, cloud environments, and project management. As the Cloud Security Project Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting a major cloud transformation initiative, collaborating across multiple IT domains, and ensuring security standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. This is an on-site role with an anticipated contract length of one year, with the potential for extension based on project needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage cloud security projects from initiation to completion, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Oversee the implementation of security architecture and controls within cloud environments, ensuring alignment with organizational security standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including technical staff, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors, to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, manage schedules, allocate resources, and monitor project budgets and progress.
  • Assess project risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, developing contingency plans and mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations to IT leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between business units and IT teams to ensure technical solutions meet operational and strategic objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies, tools, and processes, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience specifically within IT security and compliance environments.
  • At least 5 additional years of professional experience in IT, with demonstrated expertise in cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), data protection, and risk management.
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies, with proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Azure DevOps (TFS), Microsoft Office Suite, and Visio.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously, coordinating shared resources and resolving conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Proven success in building and leading high-performing teams, including internal staff and external vendors.
  • Preferred certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CCSK (Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge), or equivalent.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and available to work full-time, on-site in Houston, TX.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects involving the migration of on-premise, data-oriented workloads to new cloud data environments is highly desirable.

Pay Range: $110.00 - $112.00 Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
