The Opportunity

As a National Tax Services - M&A Tax LLM Senior Associate, you will engage in complex tax structuring and advisory services, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. You will work closely with clients to navigate the intricacies of tax implications, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax positions. As a Senior Associate, you will leverage your problem-solving skills and critical thinking to manage workstreams and develop deliverables within client service engagements. You will build meaningful client relationships and guide junior team members, enhancing your personal brand and technical skills.

This role offers the chance to work within the Mergers and Acquisition Tax team, where you will be at the forefront of corporate transactions, tax restructuring, and post-deal integration. You will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of business contexts and develop innovative tax strategies. Responsibilities

- Analyzing complex tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions to provide strategic tax advice
- Collaborating with clients to develop tax-efficient structures and strategies for corporate transactions
- Preparing and reviewing consolidated tax returns to align with financial reporting standards
- Conducting tax modeling to assess the implications of various structural options
- Advising on domestic restructuring to optimize tax benefits and compliance with tax laws
- Integrating tax and finance systems to enhance data quality for reporting purposes
- Assisting in post-deal integration to align financial and operational aspects for seamless transitions
- Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements to outline transaction terms and conditions
- Utilizing analytical thinking to interpret tax provisions and liabilities in financial statements
- Engaging in continuous learning to stay updated on tax regulations and industry trends
- Supporting the development of junior team members through mentoring and guidance
- Building meaningful client relationships to anticipate and address their tax needs
- Navigating complex tax scenarios to deliver tailored solutions for diverse client portfolios

What You Must Have

- Currently pursuing or have completed a Master of Laws degree
- Before starting full-time at PwC, meet the educational requirements and demonstrate a commitment to undertaking and passing Bar exam
- At least a 3.0 overall GPA

The salary range for this position is: $77,000 - $214,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
