Job Description

Seeking Production Floor and General Cleaners for factory setting in Hagerstown, MD.  

Requires Safety Shoes
    • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
      • 1 General Cleaner (FT)
        • $15.00-16.00/hr, based on experience
    • 3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM
      • 1 General Cleaner (FT)
        • $15.00-16.00/hr, based on experience 
      • 1 Production Floor Cleaner (FT)
        • ​​​​​​​$17.00/hour, must have experienced 
​​​​​​​ Position Summary
The Custodian is responsible for performing a variety of housekeeping and custodial tasks to maintain cleanliness, safety, and order within the facility. This position involves routine cleaning, floor care, and upkeep of building interiors and exteriors to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Essential Responsibilities
  1. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
  2. Operate floor scrubber machines (if trained and experienced).
  3. Shampoo carpets using appropriate equipment (if trained and experienced).
  4. Strip, wax, and refinish floors (if trained and experienced).
  5. Clean walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, light fixtures, window blinds, brass, and other interior surfaces.
  6. Wash interior and exterior windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
  7. Empty and clean trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
  8. Sweep entryways, empty exterior cigarette urns, and remove trash from areas immediately outside building entrances, as needed.
  9. Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, toilets, and restock supplies (e.g., paper products, soap, etc.).
  10. Maintain and organize custodial closets and ensure adequate inventory of cleaning supplies.
  11. Follow all prescribed safety procedures and promptly report any potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs to management.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to:
  • Lift up to 25 pounds
  • Push and pull cleaning equipment and carts
  • Stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Walk for up to 8 hours per day
  • Bend, stoop, and kneel frequently
The Production Floor Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across large production areas by operating ride-on and walk-behind floor scrubbers, sweepers, and other cleaning equipment. This position includes performing daily equipment checks, routine maintenance, and general cleaning duties to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate industrial cleaning equipment, including ride-on and walk-behind scrubbers and sweepers, to clean large floor areas.
  • Pre-Operation Checks: Inspect and service cleaning equipment before each use—check battery levels, brushes, squeegees, filters, and solution tanks for proper operation.
  • Post-Operation Maintenance: Drain, rinse, and clean recovery and solution tanks after each use; remove and clean vacuum fan filters.
  • Floor Care: Perform general floor cleaning tasks such as sweeping, dusting, and mopping as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct basic maintenance and promptly report malfunctions or needed repairs to management.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety, operational, and chemical handling procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Facility Cleaning: Clean and maintain building areas assigned to support overall facility hygiene.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication and positive working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
  • Reporting: Notify management of any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or necessary repairs to facility systems or cleaning equipment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other cleaning or maintenance-related tasks as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven ability to safely operate industrial floor-cleaning equipment (ride-on scrubbers, sweepers, buffers, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Understanding safety procedures and proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
