Hospice Aide – Hestia Stillwater Hospice

Our Hospice Aides are a vital part of this mission, providing essential care and comfort at the bedside of those nearing the end of life. We are seeking compassionate Home Health Assistants and / or Certified Nursing Assistants who feel called to serve others during this sacred time.

Duties
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide personal care services including lifting and transferring patients safely.
- Launder patient clothing and bedding to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary preferences are respected.
- Maintain cleanliness in patient areas by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document patient care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality.
- Support memory care initiatives by engaging patients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to report changes in patient condition or needs promptly.
Skills
- Strong ability to lift and transfer patients safely while ensuring their comfort.
- Proficient in performing laundry tasks related to patient care.
- Knowledge of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and how to assist patients effectively.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Experience or training in memory care techniques is a plus.
- Excellent cleaning skills to ensure a hygienic environment for patients.
- Compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and respect for individuals' needs.
- Previous experience in nursing homes or similar healthcare settings is beneficial but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
