Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead all safety, environmental, and security initiatives at their Pontiac facility. This is a highly visible and hands-on role that reports directly to the Plant Manager.
The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining programs that ensure a safe, compliant, and engaged workplace. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive safety leader who enjoys working closely with plant leadership and employees to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and regular facility inspections.
Lead safety training for employees, contractors, and new hires.
Investigate workplace incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and oversee corrective actions.
Maintain safety documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance records.
Manage emergency preparedness and security awareness initiatives.
Partner with operations, maintenance, and HR to drive engagement and strengthen safety culture.
Lead or participate in safety committee meetings and continuous improvement efforts.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance standards.
Proven experience conducting audits, training programs, and risk assessments.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
