Job Description

Our client, a leading renewable energy organization, is seeking, a Health and Safety Manager to join its Chicago-based team. This role is responsible for overseeing and supporting the implementation of health and safety programs across Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) operations throughout North America. Duties:

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies aligned with current industry standards and regulations.
• Create safety policies, procedures, and documentation that are both regulatory-compliant and user-friendly.
• Lead and participate in working-at-heights and confined space rescue drills to ensure safety preparedness.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, conduct Root Cause Analyses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Represent the organization in meetings with regulatory bodies and external safety-related stakeholders.
• Review and interpret safety reports and regulatory data to ensure adherence to technical requirements.
• Conduct safety audits at operational sites across North America to ensure compliance with both internal and external safety standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a safety-related role, with 2+ years in high-voltage environments.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally 40% of the time
