Job Title: Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $35 – $37 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient for an exciting job in Bronx, NY.
Responsibilities:Perform accurate and timely medical coding for inpatient records in an acute care setting.
Apply comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and relevant coding guidelines.
Review and interpret medical documentation to ensure proper code assignment and compliance.
Utilize 3M/HDS and EPIC systems for coding and data entry.
Research and resolve coding-related issues and discrepancies.
Maintain current knowledge of coding standards, billing regulations, and disease processes.
Support training and mentorship for junior coders as needed.
Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience (ED coding experience preferred).
Proficiency with EPIC and 3M/HDS applications.
Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Encoder software).
Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Must hold one of the following credentials: CCS, RHIA, RHIT, or CCP (CCS required).
AHIMA membership preferred.
